Sydney-based designer Jessica Andreatta has fashion seeped into everything she does—the founder of J.ANDREATTA, a modern and barrier-breaking bridal and red carpet couture label, Andreatta grew up inspired by her mother, who not only founded and helmed her own childrenswear label but taught at the prestigious Whitehouse Institute of Design. Since her eponymous label’s inception in 2018, the designer has become known for representing a new wave of Australian couture, with her signature craftsmanship expertly combining femininity with an edge that perfectly sums up the modern woman. One look at Andreatta’s masterfully crafted, one-of-a-kind pieces, it’s easy to see why her label has seen such dizzying success and captured the attention of everyone from Delta Goodrem to Jesinta Franklin.
Sharing a sneak peek into some of her most treasured fashion, beauty and homewares, it’s clear Andreatta has a penchant for minimalistic and classic pieces, from oversized linens to designer staples. Here, Andreatta shares some of her go-to’s.
“Ironically, I was never really passionate about bridal, it's something that I organically just fell into. What I am extremely passionate about is couture and creating glamorous gowns by hand whether that be bridal or evening wear.”
“The most rewarding aspect of bringing a bride's vision to life is when it all comes together at their final fitting and they have tears of joy. It’s a very special moment for everyone involved.” “My individual style is quite simplistic and minimal—I live in my jeans and a linen shirt but I do love to get dressed up for special occasions. A cotton oversized white shirt will always be my go-to when in doubt.”
“I'm obsessed with my linen hand crochet tablecloth I bought in 2017 at an antique store in a little town called Sitges in Spain. I also have a set of hand-painted Italian ceramic plates I love to use when entertaining and always love to add a small vase of hydrangeas.”
