What does it take to build one of Australia’s most beloved jewellery labels? Just ask Briella Brown, one half of Avant Studio, an accessory label focused on bringing a personalised touch to our collections. Brown is no stranger to taking her big ideas and running with them. In 2016, the entrepreneur appeared on Channel 10’s Shark Tank to pitch the idea of her business, Your Closet, a dress rental service sparked from her own frustrations (back when they were partially unheard of). An $80,000 investment would see her business boom, years later becoming one of the premier destinations to find occasionwear. While she’s since parted ways with Your Closet to focus on Avant Studio, it’s clear that she’s got a real talent (and passion) for business.

Alongside business partner Belle Maartensz, Brown is focused on growing Avant Studio, releasing collections that instantly reach cult status. The brand’s recently launched ‘Astra’ is no different, featuring 12 gold medallions and 12 petite gemstone charms, honouring each sign of the Zodiac.

Here, Brown shares some insight into her favourite fashion, beauty and homeware finds.

“I would say that my individual style is casual, comfortable and colourful!”

“Our days include showings with boutiques but can also include shooting content and running around, so I prioritise comfort but try to also look professional. My go-to everyday outfit is tailored pants with a collared shirt, I love Venroy and Camilla & Marc for easy work pieces.”

“I just invested in a work tote from Goyard but next on the (wish) list is the Teen Triomphe Bag by Celine - so dreamy.”

“My favourite piece at the moment is our Celine Earrings in gold — they are a staple and I never take them out. I also wear my customised Gemini necklace with my sister’s birthstone on it everyday. We recently released our Zodiac collection where you can add different Zodiac charms and birthstones on our signature box chain — it’s been such a labour of love and I think it’s extra special when you add meaning to your everyday jewellery pieces.”

“I’m very loyal to my Kosas blush/highlighter duo. It’s creamy and very compact so I always have it in my handbag for a touchup.”

“I have been using products by Dr Natasha Cook and really enjoying them! A friend recommended her products and I had just run out of my dermaviduals products so thought I would give them a try and so far I am really impressed. She has a really straightforward and uncomplicated attitude towards skincare and I like that.”

“Hourglass bronzer (it lasts so long!), Kosas blush & highlighter and Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter.”

“My signature scent is No. 04 by Maison Louis Marie, I always get compliments on it and find it fresh and not too sweet. They stock it at Lee Mathews — it’s a roll on so easy to transport and lasts so long.”

“I’m about to move into a new apartment so I'm obsessed with all things interior. I love my In The Roundhouse plates and am looking to purchase a large resin vase from Dinosaur Designs to dress the table.”

“I’m in need of a coffee table and have been eyeing off the Onda table by Just Adele, so that will hopefully be my next investment. I’ve also added the Tekla towels and bathrobes to my homewares wishlist, I love the colours especially for Summer and the fabrics look lush.”
